What if I'd win the lottery?

I used to daydream about what I would do winning the lottery. Not just some little amount, but really win it, preferably the jackpot. “Quit my job” used to be the first thought that came up.  But I never bought a ticket and of course never won anything at all.

However, a while ago, I DID quit my job after a long process of push and pull, and shall I-or-shall-I- not. Shortly afterwards, while entering the supermarket, I saw signs of a big upcoming lottery draw. The main prize attracted my attention: receiving 250.000 USD annually, over the next 20 years.

For the first time in years my answer to the question what I’d do winning the prize wasn’t automatically ‘quit my job’. I had already done that. Even winning the lottery, building my own business would still be my first choice. This relevation made me feel enormously energized and relieved. I had taken the right decision!

However, I bought a 15 USD-ticket anyway and won a small prize. Ten dollars … But by losing only 5 USD, the personal net result was having a completely new, positive experience, realizing I was on the right track. It felt like winning the Jackpot.

How about you? What would you do if you’d win? If there were no practical, financial or other limits in your life? What are you dreaming of? Take the answer seriously. What is the first step you can take today to realize that dream? How could you integrate parts of your dreams in your daily life?
